My priorities are simple:

  • Put students first.

  • Strengthen academic achievement.

  • Support our teachers.

  • Ensure safe schools.

  • Provide responsible stewardship of tax payers dollars.

  • Ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Improving Student Outcomes

  • Establish clear academic goals and hold district leadership accountable for improving student achievement.

  • Strengthen a culture of high expectations where students are challenged to achieve their full potential and recognized for academic excellence.

Smart Budgeting, Strong Schools

  • Keep students at the center of every budget decision by prioritizing investments in classrooms and student learning.

  • Increase transparency through a budget process that is open, understandable, and accountable to the community.

  • Ensure every student has access to the resources each student needs to succeed, including advanced learners and students requiring additional academic support.

Strong Academic Foundations

  • Ensure every student masters the fundamentals by reading at grade level, writing effectively, developing strong math skills, thinking critically, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of our nation's history.

  • Support instructional practices that develop critical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, and lifelong learning skills.

Ensure School Safety

  • Strengthen school security by ensuring comprehensive safety plans, regular emergency preparedness, and strong partnerships with local law enforcement and first responders.

  • Ensure capital improvement dollars are prioritized for safety, creating learning environments where every student and staff member can feel safe.

Support Our Teachers

  • Maintain safe, focused classrooms where students can focus on learning and teachers can focus on teaching.

  • Prioritize district resources that directly support classroom instruction.

  • Recognize and celebrate the outstanding work our educators do every day.

Academic Accountability

  • Set high academic expectations by ensuring consistent grading practices, on-time assignment accountability, and clear standards that prepare every student for future success.

  • Recognize and reward academic achievement by celebrating student achievement through honors such as class valedictorian, class rank, academic letters, and other meaningful forms of recognition.

Students First. Every Decision. Every Day.

Every decision begins with one question:

What is best for students?

Students should be the center of every discussion, policy, budget decision, and every vote.

When we put students first, we create schools where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

This means ensuring teachers have the support and freedom to teach, students are motivated to learn with safe and productive classrooms and parents are treated as trusted partners through transparency, communication, and respect for their role in their child's education.

A school board's most important responsibility is to ensure every decision advances student learning and achievement. Strong governance establishes clear policies, sets high expectations, and holds districts accountable for results.

Our community expects great schools that are safe, academically strong, and financially sound. Most important, our community expects every student to have a high quality education and graduate prepared for a brighter future.

Students first. Strong schools. A brighter laker future for every student.
